Project Lighting Design has been based in Singapore since 1991. It is a private limited company whose shareholders are Singapore Permanent Residents. The company maintains a full-time staff of 14 designers with various experience and capabilities that can provide the necessary specialised input as deemed appropriate. Project Lighting Design Pte Ltd was incorporated in Singapore in March 1991 by Stephen Gough, the Principal Designer and Managing Director of the firm. Prior to this, the company established its original office in Hong Kong in 1988, where Stephen Gough had worked as a lighting designer since 1983. The firm operated both the Hong Kong and Singapore offices until 1995 when Mr. Gough consolidated the firm’s operation in Singapore. In 2011, Light Touch PLD was established in the Middle East and subsequently an office in Thailand in early 2013. A Shanghai office is also in progress. The practice operates throughout the world and has extensive experience on projects located in over 20 countries, across a broad spectrum of project types including hotel, retail, commercial, leisure, transport, civic, industrial, historic, religious, museum, exhibition, urban strategies and exteriors. The firm’s extensive design experience allows it to bring innovative, manageable and affordable solutions to each commissioned project, many of which have received awards for design conscious, environmental friendly and sustainable lighting solutions.
